Zefei grew up in Jiangxi province, a place renowned for being home to Jingdezhen, the undisputed “Porcelain Capital of the World” for over a millennium. For him, exquisite ceramics weren’t just artifacts confined to museums; they were a living part of the culture and the fabric of daily life.
From a young age, he was surrounded by the legacy of this incredible craftsmanship. He developed a deep appreciation for the difference between a mass-produced item and a piece of tableware that carried a story—of the pure Kaolin clay from local mountains, of the artisan’s steady hand painting delicate patterns, and of the transformative fire of the kiln.
